The Village Christian Church held its first service in Minooka Junior High School on Sunday, October 17th, 2004 . It was launched as the daughter church of First Christian Church in Morris, Illinois where lead pastor, Nate Ferguson, had served for the previous decade. Good friend and then intern, Jared Baker, joined Nate to lead worship & arts for The Village. A core group of 40 adults and their kids stepped forward out of FCC's congregation. Emerging from this group was Amy Kostbade, whose background in Children's Ministries led to her joining the staff to lead Kid Village. A year later we were joined by Nick Sandeno, first as an intern, and then as a staff member for Student Ministries. We have seen people Experience Community Connecting with Christ, and have welcomed more new friends to join us in seeking growth and purpose together. In September 2006 the Village began offering two services. As of 2007 the Village has seen an average attendance of over 200 people. We pray that God will continue to bless His work here at TVCC, and to further our outreach and influence in Channahon, Minooka, and the surrounding communities.
